Who handles your refund
Your lessons are supplied by Hussan Lal, a self-employed driving instructor trading as CoreDrive Driving School. Contact hussanlal@msn.com or 07534 475429. Our service base is Wolverhampton, England. Tuition payments are made directly to Hussan Lal as the independent lesson provider. COREDRIVE PRIVATE LTD does not sell these lessons, take the tuition payment or decide a school refund.
In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the instructor or driving-school business identified above.
Stopping lessons and requesting a refund
You can stop lessons and end your contract at any time by telling your instructor in person, by phone, SMS, WhatsApp or email using the contact routes confirmed with your booking. You do not have to give 14 days’ notice, give a reason, complete a form or obtain our approval. We cancel the remaining appointments and unbooked hours under that contract. If you only want to move or cancel one appointment, please say so.
Lessons and packages are paid for up front, but unused money is not automatically non-refundable. The appointment-notice rule in our Cancellation Policy applies only to appointments already booked. It does not require notice for unbooked package hours or prevent you from ending the contract. A fair late-cancellation or no-show deduction may apply to affected appointments; we do not charge twice for the same time or loss.
Ordinary refunds for part-used packages
If you choose to end a discounted package early outside the statutory cooling-off route, completed lessons are valued at the standard hourly rate stated and agreed when you bought it. We subtract that amount, together with any other lawful, fair deduction explained below, from the money you paid and refund the remainder. We do not use a later increased rate. If this early-ending calculation was not part of your original agreement, we use the original package allocation instead.
For an ordinary early end to a part-used 10-, 20-, 30- or 40-hour package, the standard rate used for completed lessons is £43 per hour, as disclosed before purchase. Refund = package price paid minus (completed lesson hours × £43), minus any separate lawful, fair appointment deduction. There is no transaction fee. This is subject to the loss limits and exceptions in the Refund Policy; it is not an automatic entitlement to keep all of the calculated amount.
For instance, after four completed hours of a £399.90 10-hour package, £399.90 − (4 × £43) leaves £227.90 before any separate lawful appointment deduction; the refund increases if a loss limit reduces the standard-rate adjustment. We never make the refund negative or demand extra payment merely because you end the package.
We use the original package rate if this early-ending rule was not agreed before purchase. If we cannot provide the remaining lessons or you leave because of our breach, no standard-rate adjustment applies. For a statutory cooling-off cancellation, we use the total agreed contract price and the statutory proportionate calculation instead, not a replacement £43 rate.
For 6 For 5, £215 pays for five ordinary lesson hours at £43 each; the additional test-day benefit is the promised £43 credit against the separately priced test-day service. For ordinary cancellation, unused paid lesson hours are refundable at £43 each, before any lawful appointment-cancellation deduction. There is no separate ordinary cash exchange for the promotional test-day credit. This does not reduce a statutory cooling-off refund or any remedy for failure to supply a promised benefit. The statutory calculation takes priority; we do not automatically apply the five-paid-hour allocation where that would under-refund you.
Any amount retained above the package-rate value of completed lessons counts as an early-ending deduction. It must be proportionate and no more than our actual net loss from ending the package, after reasonable steps to reduce that loss, replacement income and costs saved. We reduce or waive the standard-rate adjustment or another deduction where necessary to meet those limits. We cannot recover the same loss twice or retain payment for unprovided lessons as a penalty. The calculation cannot create a negative refund or an additional debt merely because you stop partway through. We provide an itemised calculation on request.
The standard-rate adjustment does not apply to a statutory cooling-off cancellation or where you leave because of our breach, unlawful treatment or failure to supply the agreed service. Those routes follow the separate protections below. Earlier agreements and more favourable refund promises remain binding.
Where an introductory offer genuinely includes a complimentary test-day hour, clearly identified before purchase as a free benefit rather than paid lesson credit, that free hour has no separate ordinary cash-refund or cash-exchange value if you stop taking lessons partway through. This does not forfeit your unused paid lesson balance, allow us to relabel paid hours as free after purchase, or remove a statutory cancellation refund or remedy for failing to provide a promised benefit. The statutory rules below take priority over a promotional no-cash-value condition.
Transaction charges and returning your money
Our purchase and refund transaction fee is £0. We do not charge a payment-processing or administration fee.
Once you and your instructor have agreed the refund amount and confirmed the payment details, allow up to seven calendar days for processing. We act without undue delay and do not delay calculating or agreeing the amount unreasonably. Any statutory refund deadline runs from its legal starting point, not from a later agreement between us. An earlier deadline takes priority: the seven-day process never adds time to it.
Your bank or payment provider may take time to show the credit; that does not extend our legal obligations.
We do not charge a fee for making a statutory cancellation refund or a refund required as a statutory price reduction. This does not prevent a lawful charge for services already supplied.
We use the original payment method unless the person entitled to the refund expressly agrees to another lawful method. We do not require a new purchase, wallet credit or a replacement instructor instead of a refund due. We establish the entitled recipient proportionately without treating a payer as entitled to the learner’s private records.
Extra protection during the legal cooling-off window
Some contracts agreed online, by phone or away from our business premises have a legal cooling-off window, normally 14 days starting the day after the contract is made. Missing cancellation information can extend it. This is not 14 days’ notice: you can stop lessons immediately, including after that window. Our Cancellation Policy explains how to cancel and includes an optional form.
For a qualifying cancellation in that window, we refund without undue delay and within 14 days after the day you tell us you are cancelling. If you properly requested an early start and received the required information, we may charge only for the proportion of the contracted service already supplied, based on the total agreed contract price, or its market value if that total is excessive. We do not replace a discounted package rate with the standard hourly rate under this route. A promotional “no cash value” condition cannot override the statutory calculation. A future reserved lesson is not a service already delivered.
You owe nothing for services supplied during that window if we did not give the required cancellation and payment information or obtain the required early-start request. You lose the cooling-off right on full completion only if you expressly requested an early start and acknowledged beforehand that completion would end that right. A dated lesson is not automatically exempt, and one lesson does not by itself complete a package.
If we cancel or the service is unsatisfactory
If we cannot provide a service you paid for, we offer an alternative you can freely accept or return the money owed. If an instructor declines or withdraws test-day vehicle use, we do not automatically treat this as a cancellation by you. We explain any lawful deduction for services actually supplied and refund the amount owed; calling a decision a safety or readiness decision does not remove your rights if we failed to provide an agreed service. Where the service is defective, unsafe or otherwise in breach, we apply the applicable consumer remedies, including repeat performance or a price reduction where legally due. A legally required price-reduction refund is paid without undue delay and within 14 days beginning with the day we agree you are entitled to the refund. We do not penalise you for leaving because of our breach or require you to keep learning with an unsafe instructor.
Questions and disputes
Please contact us first using the details above if you have a refund query or disagree with a deduction, so we can explain the calculation and try to resolve the issue. Our Lesson and Service Terms explain our complaints process and any applicable external dispute-resolution options. Raising a complaint does not pause a statutory refund deadline. You may use consumer advice, the courts, or an applicable dispute-resolution route without first accepting credit or waiving legal rights. This policy does not limit any greater remedy we have expressly promised.
